Prepare to Care

Prepare to Care is a free pre-employment course for 18-24 year-olds who are interested in working in the health and social care sector.
You will attend a 5-week programme to improve your employability skills and gain a working knowledge if the the health and social care sector. The programme will include the following topics:

    * Roles of social care workers
    * Health and Safety
    * Protection of Vulnerable Adults (POVA)
    * First Aid
    * Communication skills - theory and practice
    * Person-centred approaches
    * Diversity, equality and inclusion
    * Employability skills - CV preparation, interview techniques, etc.
The ultimate aim is for you to start a fulfilling career in the health and social care sector. When you have completed the course, you will have the opportunity to find work or a placement using the skills you have gained on the course and JGA's links with health and social care providers. Once you have found work, you will have the opportunity to continue your development, starting an NVQ in Health and Social Care through Train to Gain.
